While we finished towards the bottom of the PS4 NPL ladder in 2014, I look back and it was a good year.
It was our first full year together, building the club and the NPL squad to what we want it to become. We had some great highlights amongst our NPL matches - and some unlucky results also. We had the World Cup and much, much closer to home the Wingate Properties Townsville Football Cup which was a fantastic event and opportunity for football fans and the players of Fury and around the region, culminating in Braedyn Crowley signing for Newcastle Jets NYL squad.
The new year sees us with a fresh new look website - and we'll have a new look squad too. I'm not ready to announce it yet for a variety of reasons. I know I'm getting some stick from people down south in Brisbane about that but, as the coach, it's my prerogative when I'll announce the squad. Big city people sometimes don't understand some of the challenges we have also!
I'll be announcing the squad a few days before our first match of the PS4 NPL season against Cairns on 28th February.
In the meantime, I encourage you to buy a Northern Fury membership. All the details are here. Regardless of the level of membership, you'll get entry into all of our NPL home games as part of the package which is the type of value my Scottish heart warms to!
I look forward to seeing you at games and having another great year of football ahead.
Just a reminder also that we can have some fun amongst the training and playing. Here I am doing the Ice Bucket Challenge during the Townsville Football Cup last year.
Happy 2015 everyone!
