Northern Fury Football Club has signed a partnership agreement with Cowboys Leagues Club that will see the club become the official partner for the forthcoming A-League pre-season tour.
Two A-League clubs, Wellington Phoenix and Melbourne City, will be in Townsville for up to nine days each.
Cowboys Leagues Club will provide meals to Wellington Phoenix for the duration of the tour, as well as be the official post-match venue for Northern Fury, Melbourne City and supporters on both match days, 7th September and 11th September.
Northern Fury Chairman, Rabieh Krayem, said that the support of the Cowboys Leagues Club for the A-League pre-season tour has meant that tickets to games have been kept to a very manageable level.
Entry to the match between Northern Fury and Melbourne City is the same as for NPL Queensland games at $10 for an adult and no cost to those with a concession card or who are under 15.
For the match between the two A-League teams – including arguably the greatest Socceroo of all time, Tim Cahill - the cost is $15 for an adult and $5 for concession or under 15. This is half the cost of standard A-League entry costs.
“The cost of entry to see Timmy Cahill play is worth on its own, let alone the other A-League stars from both teams,” said Krayem.
Melbourne City’s squad includes last season’s leading goalscorer, Bruno Fornaroli, former Danish international Thomas Sorensen, and Anthony Caceres. The Wellington Phoenix squad includes evergreen Andrew Durante, Roly Bonevacia and history-making Fijian Rio 2016 Olympian, Roy Krishna.
